“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).
“All of the privileges but none of the responsibilities” seems to be a popular mindset. It is found in those who disdain marriage but choose to “co-habitate”/fornicate instead. It is found in businesses where there are employees who want a hefty check while doing very little actual work. It is found in students who want a degree but would gladly forego the rigors of getting an education.
Because humans are made in God’s image and live in God’s world, we do not get to decide if or how much accountability we have. Jehovah didn’t ask, and He is not taking suggestions on the matter.
Every being God has created with freedom of choice is accountable to Him for the choices they make. No one—not even the devil and his angels—is so special or so entitled that he will be exempted from appearing before Christ’s great white throne, being judged according to his works, and either being cast into the lake of eternal fire or welcomed into God’s Sabbath rest (Revelation 20:11-21:2).
Every creature IS accountable to the omniscient God.
