“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
If the Scriptures were represented on a topography map, Romans 8 would be a tall and prominent mountain. Its contents have spiritual heights and insights which are positively dazzling and dizzying.
Its final peak (verses 38-39) is as glorious as any. Not only did God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, He also has so convincingly demonstrated His love that the only rational, irresistible conclusion you can draw is that nothing in heaven or under it can separate you from it.
What passion! What intensity! What tenacity!
Such love has only one appropriate response: to love God with equal passion, intensity, and tenacity.
It is true that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Is it true that nothing can separate you from loving God as He has loved you?
