Three great truths are rooted in these three words.
Creation was accomplished by God in Christ. According to John 1:3, all creation was made by God through the Word. Without Him nothing was made that was made. By the Son of His love (Colossians 1:13), “all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:16-17).
Redemption is offered by God in Christ. According to Ephesians 4:32, all humanity can be forgiven by God in Christ. Jesus’ atoning sacrifice was a sweet-smelling sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2). It propitiated God’s wrath against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men; therefore, God’s offer of salvation to whoever calls on the name of the Lord is universally given. All of God’s spiritual blessings are in Christ.
Judgment will be executed by God in Christ. According to Romans 2:16, all humanity will be judged by God through Christ. Every secret of men will become known “for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore, whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops” (Luke 12:2-3). Since God is the Judge of all (Hebrews 12:23) and all judgment has been committed to the Son (John 5:22), God in Christ will judge all nations.
