Some people are best described as being “so heavenly minded they are of no earthly good”; others can be said to be “so earthly minded they are of no heavenly good”.
Either type of individual is not living in harmony with God’s will for them.
As Jesus discourses in Matthew 6:1-18, He declares that a genuinely righteous person must cultivate a righteous relationship…
- With others—especially the needy (vv. 1-4).
- With God (vv. 5-15).
- With self (vv. 16-18).
The challenge of balance is real.
It is essential to being righteous.
