“So” is a mighty big little word.
See if you don’t agree that is big little word multiplies the force and impact in these Bible verses: “For God so loved the world…So run (the Christian race)that ye may obtain (the prize)…I marvel that you are turning so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different gospel…Are you so foolish?…you have not so learned Christ…let each one of you (husbands) in particular so love his own wife as himself” (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 9:24; Galatians 1:6, 3:3; Ephesians 4:20, 5:33).
One of the continuous challenges of living a righteous life is the mighty so in Matthew 5:16—“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Because of the saving grace of God, one who is living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age is zealous for good works—ready to do them and maintain them (Titus 2:11-14; 3:1, 14). Their righteous life and good works are not for the purpose of being seen by men and thus personally praised. Rather, it is so that others will glorify God when they see their good works.
How much so is in your life?
