“Feet that are swift in running to evil” (Proverbs 6:16-18).
One of the best, most accurate pieces of advice I ever received as a teacher was: “The direction a student’s feet are pointing is where his/her attention is.”
The same is true about one’s spiritual attention. Feet that are swift to run to evil are on a person whose heart and mind are keenly interested in evil things.
Judas’ feet moved swiftly to profit from the betrayal of Jesus (John 13:27); Joseph’s feet moved swiftly to flee from the wicked desires of Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:7-12).
Are your feet moving in the direction of something God hates or something God loves?
