Consultants can charge their clients lots of money if they have an impressive resume. Ambitious people are willing to spend loads of money to have the counsel of advisors who have worked with former presidents and other top business and government leaders. In light of the role that wisdom played when Jehovah founded the earth and established the heavens, one would think that the cost of her services would be exorbitant. But, such is not true. Her counsel is available to all at no financial cost.
In Proverbs 3:22-26, Solomon describes the life one enjoys when he puts wisdom on permanent retainer. When wisdom is your constant companion, when she is your sole advisor, when her counsels of sound wisdom and discretion are gladly accepted and diligently heeded, “they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.”
